HOW DOES COMMON GROUND COUNSELLING MEASURE A CLIENT’S SUCCESS?

We works with clients to create their own meaningful goals.  Throughout the counselling process, goal progress is monitored and discussed. It is important to note that counselling goals are unique to the individual and success will look different for each client.

WHAT IS EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED THERAPY (EFT)?

EFT is a structured therapeutic approach to counselling that focuses on attachment and emotions in relationships. Two of the main goals of EFT are to facilitate improve interactions between partners and strengthen relationship bonds.

WHAT IS EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION REPROCESSING (EMDR)?

EMDR is an evidence based therapy designed to help distressed clients reprocess and heal from traumatic or distressing memories and/or events.  

WHAT IS ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT THERAPY (ACT)?

ACT is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes acceptance of one's emotions through mindfulness and facilitates behavioural change by examining client values and establishing more flexible thinking.
